We are pleased to announce that horror icon “Ari Lehman” and his band “First Jason” have signed with Dark Star Records. Ari Lehman is the actor/singer who had the unique honor of having played the role of the First Jason Voorhees in the Paramount Classic Horror Film “Friday the 13th” (1980). The original “Boy In The Lake” himself, Ari played a crucial role in the film’s famous final scene, in which he suddenly emerges from the icy waters of Crystal Lake. Working with Special Effects Master Tom Savini at an early age gave Ari a deep appreciation for the Horror Greats including Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff and Vincent Price. Since his shocking debut in Friday The 13th, Ari Lehman has been quite busy with his Horror Rock Band “FIRSTJASON” who have performed at HORRORHOUND WEEKEND, FANGORIA WEEKEND OF HORRORS, ROCK AND SHOCK, TEXAS FEAR FEST, and FLASHBACK WEEKEND Horror Conventions, as well as THE MILWAUKEE METAL MASSACRE and many of the top Punk/Metal venues throughout the MidWest. ARI LEHMAN has appeared in E!, Entertainment Weekly, Blender Magazine, Chicago Reader, The Chicago-Sun Times, Illinois Entertainer, Denver CBS4-TV News, and Fangoria Radio. He has also appeared at Horror events in Germany, Holland and the United Kingdom. And now “First Jason” is about to unleash their Self Titled Album “Worldwide” through Dark Star Records and their digital partners IODA / Sony Music.

“Your Love Is Hurting” could very well be another platinum song for Herman Rarebell but for us it was just the perfect song for a particular scene in the movie Jezebeth, and for that we are very elated. The movie will be available worldwide in 2011 and stars Bree Michaels as Jezebeth.
Dark Star Records is blazing right past many of the major labels with the future of e-commerce. It’s time to move beyond a single stand alone online store and bring your online store to where your fans are hanging out; Facebook, MySpace, Blogs, Websites. Don’t just post your new CD on your Facebook Wall and link your fans back to a typical online store. Post your new CD on your Facebook Wall, MySpace Page, Blog or official website and let your fans buy it right there without even leaving. Let your fans share your new CD as a Wall post with all their friends, while including the ability to buy your CD in every single one of those Wall posts. It is time to bring your commerce to the world of social. CommerceSocial is a new tool that is extremely easy to setup and lets your CD spread virally through the social networks. Here is how it works: Imagine that the next time you post a product on your Facebook Wall that instead of it just being a image that links off to your website where you need to get your fan through the entire conversion process to complete a purchase that now when they click on the product image a small window actually expands right inside Facebook with a mini shopping cart embedded,. This mini shopping cart allows the fan to instantly make a purchase right in the Facebook Wall… while they are still the most excited and interested in the product. Now what if your fans could become your sales force, they are your biggest supporters. There is a Share button right in the cart that allows the fan to further Share the product on their Facebook Wall. All of a sudden your Wall post is being spread across Facebook by all your fans, and every one of those Wall posts is an online store. A major shift is happening in online commerce and advertising, consumers in ALL social networks and communities are relying heavily on peer word-of-mouth recommendations for their purchases as they chat about brands and products – it’s happening every minute of every day. 90% of consumers online trust recommendations from people they know; 70% trust opinions of unknown users. 67% of shoppers spend more online after recommendations from their online community of friends. A product posted on a Facebook Wall or shared in a user’s blog is a recommendation of trust. CommerceSocial even has a full affiliate program built right into your store. If someone posts a product on their Wall and makes a sale you can choose to pay them a small finders fee. Even more incentive for your fans to start posting your products… they can make some money selling your products! I have been talking all about Facebook, but all of the same functionality works on MySpace, Blogs and Websites. You can post a complete working store wherever your fans are. Dark Star Records is very exited to be working directly with the CEO of CommerceSocial “Ariel Wada” and Michael Brandvold who came to us with this new technology. Michael Brandvold has worked with KISS, Britney Spears, Madonna, U2, Motley Crue, Rod Stewart, Fleetwood Mac, Universal Music Group, BMG/Sanctuary Records, Rhino Records and many more.

Independent Filmmaker Ricardo Islas and his production team are taking advantage of the current social networking generation by funding their remake of the classic horror film Frankenstein. The team has already raised several thousand dollars by utilizing the indie fundraising website IndieGoGo. It’s called crowd funding, and it allows the audience to fund films with small donations. For a donation of only $10 you can get a DVD copy of the movie with a special introduction: a video taped message by one of our stars thanking contributors. It would be a unique edition that nobody else would have. And for a donation of $500 or more you would have the opportunity to be killed on camera by the Lovely Elizabeth. The scene would be edited and then added to the DVD as a special bonus feature. So, for a very small amount of money you can be a part of filmmaking history. To make a donation go to:

The documentary produced by MDF Productions is expected to be somewhat controversial and includes Drake Mefestta a real life vampire who will be carrying out a live feeding on camera. The television show also includes: Michelle Belanger, Ticia Martyr and the artwork of Ivan Otis.
Here is a description from the project’s Facebook page: Dracula, Nosferatu and now Edward are all part of cinema history and the Vampire legend, but is there any truth behind the spine-chilling fiction? At first bite, the vampire seems to be just the product of our heated imagination, a dark fairy tale. But some folklore’s do hold truths, explain some fears, and satisfy some desires. Indeed, this terrifying monster’s beginnings is a lifetime away from the 21st century vampire – those real people living amongst us who drink human blood and purposely embrace the darkness. The Real Vampire Files explores the evolution of the age-old myth that has truly become a blood-curdling reality.
We are pleased to announce that Drake Mefestta and Ticia Martyr of SGL Entertainment have landed major roles in the 2011 remake of Frankenstein “The Day Of The Beast”. The movie produced and directed by Ricardo Islas of Alpha Studios will have an all new approach to it. In a foggy winter morning, a raft brings a priest to an isolated island. He is getting paid to perform a wedding ritual under very mysterious conditions. The groom is Victor Frankenstein, and the young and beautiful bride is his cousin Elizabeth. Seven armed and dangerous mercenary soldiers have been hired to protect her against something huge that hides in the woods, awaiting for that wedding night to be consummated. Victor is the only one who knows the truth about their enemy. His secret will be paid with the life of his private army, whose men will die one by one, as the creature gets closer to his target: the bride. Old style Hammer type of movie, but action packed ala Predator, this is a take on Frankenstein you have never seen and will never forget.
