Matt Mercado has quite a history of success. Matt Mercado first ripped up the Chicago scene in the early ’90’s with local legends Daisy Chain, leading to a seven figure recording deal with Mercury Records (Kiss, Bon Jovi). The band changed its moniker to Mindbomb and recorded their first CD under the production of Max Norman (Mega Death, Ozzy Osborne). MindBomb went on to tour the US and Europe extensively opening for rock legends such as Kiss and Rob Halford. Mindbomb also gained critical recognition and many major motion picture sound tracks including the classics Cliff Hanger-Sylvester Stalone, and Kalifornia-Brad Pitt. Matt then went on to release two national CD’s with Pivot Man on Mystic Records (Warner Brothers) in 2000 and 2002. Various tracks from both CD’s were heavily featured on MTV’s Real World and Road Rules. In late 2005 Matt released his power metal group Supermercado’s “Scary Baby”. An internationally acclaimed album that garnered Matt the prestigious “Most Under Rated Artist of The last 20 years” in the 20th anniversary issue of Metal Edge Magazine. And, Supermercado along with Fall Out Boy, and Rob Zombie are featured in the Sierra Video game “Flat Out III”.

World Premiere Music Video and Album Debut for New Supergroup “Cosmic Fury”

The band Cosmic Fury launches their new album “Cyber Dust” on the Dark Star Records Sony Music Label. This is the Debut release from this new Rock Supergroup. The band features former members of Daisy Chain, Mindbomb, Bunker Hill, Pivot Man, Supermercado, Roller and Zoetrope. Band leader and singer, Matt Mercado and bassist, Danny Vega, played together in the ’90s band Mindbomb. Mindbomb signed to Mercury Records which gave Mercado and Vega the chance to tour around the world with rock gods like KISS, Rob Halford, Jackyl and Mötley Crüe. Mindbomb songs were also featured in two major motion pictures: Kalifornia starring Brad Pitt and Cliffhanger starring Sylvester Stallone. After Mindbomb, Vega went on to play with drummer, Frank Iffland, in the popular local outfit, Bunker Hill, while Mercado launched Supermercado with guitarist and Zoetrope alumnus, Michael Ray Garret, thus completing the stellar lineup. “The new album “Cyber Dust” is Pure Genius” Quotes Label President Jeffrey A. Gregg Potter Wins An Emmy

Gregg Potter, drummer for Dark Star Records recording artist Supermercado, wins 2008-2009 Chicago/Midwest Emmy award for “Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence on Camera Programming Performer” also featuring Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick) and Damon Ranger (Blackbox). Emmy’s were awarded on November 7, 2009 at the Park West, Chicago. Gregg had to leave the Emmy’s early to perform with Supermercado, who opened for international recording artist, Steelheart, and then had to return to the Emmy’s to collect his award. Gregg Potter can also be seen in the full-length horror film, Jezebeth, written, directed and produced by Damien Dante of Satania 6 Films and distributed by DSR Music and Film Distribution in association with Sony Entertainment. Jezebeth is slated for worldwide release in Spring 2010.
