SGL Entertainment is Looking to the future of independent movie and film distribution with the latest digital platforms. “We are looking ahead” says SGL Entertainment President Jeffrey A. Swanson. “The future of visual entertainment will soon be dominated by digital devices such as 4k TV’s, state of the art tablets, high tech mobile phones and even digital eyeglasses”. We launched a few of our films on Google Play while they were just getting started and we had a lot of success with them. One of our films “Jezebeth” is now featured on Rhovit which is still in Beta.

And looking down the road, many of our movies will be featured on the Futuristic M-GO Movies On Demand Service. Dark Star Records Included In Epic Merger With Sony Music Entertainment

Dark Star Records is now a part of the largest most powerful digital distribution company in the world. The Orchard and the Independent Online Distribution Alliance (IODA), the two largest digital aggregators in the United States, have now merged. And, Sony Music Entertainment will be a strategic investor in the combined entity, sources tell Billboard Magazine. As part of the deal, Sony will own at least 50% of the merged company, the sources add. As a result of the deal, the merged company will have revenues of about $130 million.

This deal comes in the wake of the merger between INgrooves and Fontana. Shamrock Capital acquired Fontana from the Universal Music Group and merged it with INgrooves, leaving the major as an investor with a 15%-20% stake in the combined entity. Dark Star Records the hard rock, metal music label who came in on the ground floor with IODA has been a part of the merger since day one. “We now have more options then ever for our artists” Quotes Dark Star Records label president Jeffrey A. Swanson. “And we will even have the opportunity to distribute some of our films through this newly formed company”. Jezebeth Featured On YouTube Rentals and Google Play Bringing SGL Entertainment Into The Big Picture

SGL Entertainment’s Jezebeth, Written, Directed and Produced by Damien Dante is Now Featured on YouTube Rentals and Google Play along with movies such as Underworld “Awakening”, Hostel, Final Destination 5 and Paranormal Activity 3. In the last couple of weeks, YouTube and Google Play has added 500 hundred new movie titles from Paramount Pictures and more than 600 titles from MGM. This means the six major studios and more than 10 independent movie studios are currently offering movies for rent on YouTube and Google Play. There are 17.9 million film buffs online and 11 million of them visit YouTube each month. According to a recent IHS Screen Digest study, online movie watching in the U.S. will double this year and will make up the majority of people’s home entertainment viewing. SGL Entertainment is very excited to be a part of this new digital frontier, and with the help of our many partners including “Linda Nelson” from California we will continue to get our movies and media to the masses on a global level.
