THE DAY OF THE DEAD Based on true facts, a gang of suburban kids is sport-killing home-less people just for fun in the streets of Chicago. One day, they decide to try a new excitement, by murdering a young Mexican working girl, assuming there would be no consequences since she was illegal. Police detective Carla Moreno takes the case personally and starts an investigation that leads her to a case of racial hatred and police corruption. The father of the victim is allowed into the country with a 15 days humanitarian visa, so that he can take his daughters body back to Mexico. Detective Moreno is made responsible for the father by the Homeland Security Department. Things get complicated for detective Moreno, when the body of the girl mysteriously disappears from the morgue and the father decides to take investigation in his own hands and maybe justice as well. Gregg Potter Wins An Emmy
Gregg Potter, drummer for Dark Star Records recording artist Supermercado, wins 2008-2009 Chicago/Midwest Emmy award for “Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence on Camera Programming Performer” also featuring Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick) and Damon Ranger (Blackbox). Emmy’s were awarded on November 7, 2009 at the Park West, Chicago. Gregg had to leave the Emmy’s early to perform with Supermercado, who opened for international recording artist, Steelheart, and then had to return to the Emmy’s to collect his award. Gregg Potter can also be seen in the full-length horror film, Jezebeth, written, directed and produced by Damien Dante of Satania 6 Films and distributed by DSR Music and Film Distribution in association with Sony Entertainment. Jezebeth is slated for worldwide release in Spring 2010.
